Several years ago, I decided to write up some things I remembered from growing up in the 1930's. It was quite a different time from now. We lived a different life style that many children of today would not recognize. They would wonder how we survived without TV, the Internet, cell phones, fast foods, microwaves and many other things that are now taken for granted. However, we survived and did quite well This was a period which included the great depression and was just before World War II. I grew up in a small village surrounded by fields and woods, near a lake. I attended a local elementry school with caring teachers I had friendly neighbors and best of all I had loving parents.
